The lady that served us denied me going to the toilet 2 minutes after closing while sitting outside as a customer. ——— to go to the shop next door to relieve myself. Her demeanour was very callus with me. Could do better.
How City Centre cafés answer their Google reviews
In August 2026 we read every reply we could find published by 7 cafés in City Centre — 129 of them. This page is what we counted. Nothing on it is estimated, and no business is named.
Replies here run longer than the Nottingham median — 36 words against 31. Longer is not better: past a certain point a reply reads as defensive, and the reader stops. 40% of them touch nothing the reviewer actually wrote.

——— a shift and closing the building is a reasonable place to draw a line — two minutes past closing, the till is cashed up and the team is on their way home. That said, "callous" is the word we'd want to avoid from anyone at the counter, and the manner of it is the part worth hearing.
