Replies here run longer than the Sheffield median — 23 words against 13. Longer is not better: past a certain point a reply reads as defensive, and the reader stops. 51% of them touch nothing the reviewer actually wrote.

Sentences shared between different City Centre cafés

These appear word-for-word under reviews at more than one business here. Nobody copied anyone — they arrived at the same sentence independently, which is what makes it a template.

Good coffee, quality varies from time to time. The first few were perfect. ———, at one encounter I had, the owner provided excellent customer service and demonstrated genuine interest to listen to customer feedback and provide compensation. Thanks.

Hi ——— We are sad to read about your experience and would like to refund your £3.50 or give you a free drink. Please message our contact details and we’ll arrange immediately. We’d also like to hear more about your experience. All our baristas are well trained with good experience, including on 30th July. The barista that day says no customer asked her to re-make a drink. We strive to deliver smooth micro-foam for every flat white and latte but cappuccinos are slightly more foamy which might explain the texture. Hopefully hear from you soon. Regards, ———- ——— Cafe

——— is the one thing we hold ourselves to most strictly — two visits should taste the same. That it hasn't always landed that way is worth knowing. Good to hear the conversation was useful, and we're glad it felt genuine rather than just polite.
