Coffee is not exactly fine tinned to be called specialty coffee, at least the one I had was a bit burned. But it has good location and atmosphere.
How Old Town cafés answer their Google reviews
In August 2026 we read every reply we could find published by 6 cafés in Old Town — 91 of them. This page is what we counted. Nothing on it is estimated, and no business is named.
Replies here run at or below the Edinburgh median of 18 words. Short is fine — short and specific is what works. Short and generic is what most of these are. 54% of them touch nothing the reviewer actually wrote.
One Old Town review, answered twice
Sorry! I was away until last Tuesday. Not sure what was served, but clearly it wasn’t good, I can only apologise! Next time you’re in the area please pop in, let me know, and I’ll make it up to you. ———
The location and atmosphere — glad those worked for you. On the coffee: a burned shot is usually a question of extraction temperature or time, and it's not something we'd send out on purpose. If it didn't taste right, we'd want to know at the counter.
