My friend fell asleep for a moment. The whole group got kicked out just for sitting with them. Management and security staff were rude and gave no explanations.
How Stokes Croft cafés answer their Google reviews
In August 2026 we read every reply we could find published by 15 cafés in Stokes Croft — 196 of them. This page is what we counted. Nothing on it is estimated, and no business is named.
Replies here run longer than the Bristol median — 19 words against 18. Longer is not better: past a certain point a reply reads as defensive, and the reader stops. 49% of them touch nothing the reviewer actually wrote.

One Stokes Croft review, answered twice
Hi ———, As a late night venue in ——— Croft we do remove customers who are too intoxicated or asleep. In this instance someone in your group asked for help as they thought their friend had taken something. However, we don't want that person to be removed and left alone outside if they're pontentially vulnerable, hence why we asked your group to go with them. If you feel this wasn't explained well enough to you at the time then please do email us on ——— and we can look into this for you. Apologies that your night was cut short, but our main priority is customer & staff welfare. Best wishes
Asking someone who has fallen asleep to wake up is standard — it is not something we can let go, however briefly it happens. That said, how it was handled matters as much as the decision itself, and rudeness without explanation is not how we want anyone leaving.
